Your not allowed to Recast Period. Unless you have a Screen Used Prop you can recast that since you can offer accurate stuff to the hobby. Also even if it's out of date you don't recast it period.
It doesn't matter what age you are, if you have the talent and the motivation you can do anything.

What Josh said...
To recast anything is really a no-no, but as Josh stated something as an original movie prop etc is looked at as OK by most, and a very grey area. Most agree it's ok, some don't still as it's someone's work.

Just curious EDC, what do you mean by 'how do people recast latex masks n props"?
As in how they morally do it/get away with it or 'how to' recast a latex mask/prop to make a mold?

I only wanted to know how it's done because If I ever get a hold of a screen used prop I might want to know how this is done ,and mr dark,I wanted to know how do you make a mold of a latex prop or mask.thanks,EDC.

As a friend, I think it would've been a good idea to mention that in your initial post. Now that you've said it AFTER what Josh said, it kiiiinda sounds like an excuse. One thing that I've noticed in this hobby is that if you even mention recasting, it puts you at High Alert as a likely Recaster. NOT SAYING THAT YOU WOULD, just saying what I've seen over the years. However, if your intentions are where I think they are, it's not a complicated process. You just MIGHT ruin the Screen-Used Item if you aren't careful.

Its very obvious what the popular opinion on recasting is here on the board....VERY FEW stand against it here. its this same attitude that destroyed the Garage kit hobby. I garauntee if YOU were the one spending HOURS AND DAYS hunched over a goddamn sculpt, your opinion would be very different!!!! shame on those that approve of this kind of underhanded dealings! :butthead: this you can kiss!!!! :butthead:

I WILL NEVER OFFER ANOTHER PIECE ON THIS SITE BECAUSE OF THIS.......

I have two masks that are owed to members here... dont worry, you'll get what you paid for...

for those that want to contact me.. please do so at "the saw is family"...as i think im done here.

EDC, there are plenty of folks that deem this OK sadly without permission from the original creator. (I'm not one of them)
If permission is granted, then that's a whole different story.
There is a certain stigma that can be attached to someone seeking 'how to' advice to recast a screen used item out in public;
who's to say said person wouldn't recast any artists work? Just food for thought...

Take care,
~Jon
