POEMS OF THE HALLOWEEN/FALL SPIRIT.

Postby 50-oNe-50 » Wed Mar 28, 2012 9:33 pm

I remember a couple years back, tola (i think) asking us to post poems as HalloweeN was not too far along & the poems that we all posted had such a great Halloween vibe,i thought we could get the halloween spirit going a little early & post up some poems as October is such a beautiful time of year. This is mine from back in 2010. If you have one, post it up.

It's that Halloween time of year, where the leaves brush along the street, The time of year that white mask never looked so sweet.

Blue coveralls, a knife and rage filled with-in, as the sweat starts to pour his heart pumps venom. The trees bristle in the wind as the sun starts to set, this will be one night you will not soon forget.

The sky is now black & the moon the only light, no trick or treating, no kids in sight.

A view into the world of a man who is not there, a man with no emotion, a man who does not care. A pale white mask tries to hide his rage, tries to hide his pain that no one can gauge.

In a world of insanity he himself is insane as he gives a cold gaze terror runs threw your veins.
There is nowhere to run and there IS no escape, a lamson threw your heart on halloween is your fate.

He stalks but never runs only walks into your world, and stabs you to a wall leaving your toes curled.

He moves to the next until there fate is sealed, he made a small town a legend, the small town of Haddonfield.

You can run up stairs, you can hide in a closet, your life is not his mission, just a small deposit. You can shoot him six times, shoot him in his eyes, burn him in a hospital, but HE never dies.

You can bury him in a well, run him over in a truck, his desire to kill is stronger than your luck. Electrified from electricusion, his kills are close like an execution.

You can be a rap star with brades galore, i hope he's the next to get pinned to a door. A man who doesn't die, a man who is still alive, a man who does everything to see you dont survive.

A menace to society, he is the essence of a killer. Halloween is near my dear, so be ready for a thriller.

Your breathing gets shallow as your eyes roll back, your vision gets blury as it fades to black. He knows no remorse or feels no guilt, a sign of good work is a sublte head tilt. He is hell on earth threw flames and threw fires. His name is simply...

Michael Myers

Here's a couple by me

"All Hallow's Eve"

The Harvest, nights as cold as ice
The hills run red with the blood of Sacrifice
The flames of Samhain, the Celtic worship
The border of living and dead shall burn
Releasing the souls of the damned, a night to roam they earn
The great pumpkin is lit, with eyes of fire
And in the fall will sing, the Devil's choir
Tonight, evil runs free
An escape from sweet misery
Masquerade, ritual, and tradition
And in the group of nights to worship, we accept this addition
For on this night, every scream, every spook, every fright, and every kook
We celebrate as one

On All Hallow's Eve

"Boogeyman"

This late October night
Don't put up a fight
He comes from behind
With murder on his mind
Don't fear, you'll soon be in peace
His work is art, and you're his latest piece
With a cut here, and a slit there
Your life ends in despair
He walks away, into the dark
On your chest, he left his mark
The thorn in your heart
Solidifies your part
In this cold Halloween night
But you're brought to life, by the Jack-O-Lantern's light
You look around
Not a sound
Your heart is not beating
You're not breathing
You look to the ground, and are shocked by what you find
You can't believe it, you're losing your mind
You're a spirit, roaming the earth, on the Festival of Samhain
Your body lies there, slain
At the end of the night, your spirit leaves the earth
And in your next chapter, the eternal rebirth

These are my Halloween poems.
October DREAMS
A time of chilled wind
And a Harvest Moon
A paper Witch with a knotted broom
A Dancing Skeleton and a Whispering Ghost
The Old Scarecrow hanging on a post
A Jack-O-Lantern burning bright
To bring spirits back for just one night
The only night of the year
to become what you would not dare
Candy Apples, something sweet
I'll spare you the Trick if you give up the Treat
The air is filled with screams, laughter and song
All of which vanish at the first light of dawn.

LATE
The leaves rattle like old bones
I swear I hear moans
It's very late now
What is that lurking in the street
The ghostly Dead
Or a child in a bed sheet
It's very late now
A monster at my window
I gasp
I'm not sure if it's real
or a rubber mask
It's very late now
And nothing is as it seems
It's very late
On Halloween.

Halloween MAGIC

As the remaining sunlight glows its last
I dance out into the night
I’m ready for tricks
But candy would be nice
Anything can happen tonight
There is magic in the air
I carry my pumpkin
Its carved face flickers and burns
Amber flames keep the shadows and goblins at bay
Can it be scary?
You bet
But my pillowcase is only half full
And I’m not going home yet!

The Rites of Autumn
I feel it coming
The navy blue pre-dawn morning I sit and watch black leaves fly across the street lamp
Leaves glow like fire against a stone sky
Scarecrows give their apples freely
Twilight smolders warm, bright and red
Dark ghosts born of dying light cry with the chilly wind and follow me home
Old songs are sung and the smell of burning wood makes promises of monsters, witches and chocolate
Hugs and kisses bring rubber skeletons and scary stories of headless ghosts
The navy blue pre-dawn morning I sit and watch the leaves fly I feel it coming

Great thread, guys! Here's one I wrote a few years ago for a contest.

JC

HALLOWEEN

Halloween means to me more than most may see,
It's cherished memories as a child so careless, wild, and free...

As the days grow shorter during my favorite time of year,
Excitement for that mystical eve begins to appear.

The scarecrows stand proud for all to see,
Almost as if they're as excited as me.

Now that their work is finally done,
They're just hanging around for some Halloween fun.

Plump orange pumpkins growing on the vine,
Soon to be carved with a ghoulish design.

The night air is filled with the scent of burning leaves,
While a bright harvest moon seems to smile through the trees.

Then it happens in the blink of an eye,
That crisp October chill comes gently creeping by.

At that moment memories from years before,
Fill my head with visions of witches, ghosts, and goblins galore.

Finally my wait is a thing of the past,
Excitedly I think, "It's here, it's here at last!"

Ghost stories and hayrides while bon fires burn bright,
We hide our deepest fears with all of our might.

Tales of grim shadows near the cemetery gate,
And rumored ghostly figures of those who've met their fate.

The creepy old house at the end of the street,
Is believed to be where all of the evil spirits meet.

The flickering Jack-o-lanterns fresh off the vine,
Seem to come alive now, and have their own mind.

They all sit patiently guarding their posts,
While some keep company with sheets posing as ghosts.

Chocolate cupcakes with orange and green icing,
Red candy apples, oh how enticing.

Big bowls are filled with sugary treats,
Then placed by the door for children lurking the streets.

Costumes and trick-or-treating bring eerie delight,
And can only be enjoyed on this one special night.

Screeching children can be heard down the streets,
Some laughing, some screaming in pursuit of some sweets.

As fast as my legs can possibly run,
I join the masqueraders for all the festive fun.

From house to house we are fast on our feet,
Positioning our masks as we yell "Trick-or-Treat".

With all of us huddled amazed at our stash,
Greed recommends one last dash.

As the night begins to close and porch lights go out,
I drag my feet homeward beginning to pout.

A bag full of candy clinched tight in one hand,
While the other carries my mask with a broken rubber band.

In my memories above it's plain to see,
Bits and pieces of what Halloween means to me.

Now here's a treat that I'm sure you've heard,
But to leave it out would be quite absurd.

It's quoted straight from John Carpenter's "HalloweeN",
Probably the best movie that I have ever seen!......

"Black cats and goblins and broomsticks and ghosts,
Covens of witches with all of their hosts.
You may think they scare me, you're probably right.
Black cats and goblins on Halloween night.

TRICK OR TREAT

Another one by me

"Jack-O-Lanterns"

When the October light begins to burn
And the seasons begin to turn

The pumpkins come off the vine
To make treats and goodies so devine

But there is another tradition
And to my memory, a sweet addition

On a good plump pumpkin, we carve a face
Of a witch, a ghoul, or goblin, choose your base

The pumpkin will come to life
With some love and work by your hand and knife

On the night of All Hallow's Eve, inside a candle is lit
At your front door, lighting the way for the children, it will sit

It smiles upon the trick or treaters as they accept their treat
They run off laughing, quick on their feet

Their night is short lived, but remembered forever
A cold breeze blows out the candle, they shiver and away they whither

The tradition stays with us, and we will teach it to our children
And they will share the fun, along with their generation

The Jack-O-Lanterns live inside us all
As a part of us is left in that fateful night, in the cold windy fall

A somewhat oldie but goodie for this time of year. Almost like a tradition to keep adding to it. The original thread was started in 09 i believe & went 4-5 pages but got lost.
