Im intrigued to know about this aswell,is this to do with the idea the Hero had some sort of Blue tint added to the paint ? i still believe that was all lighting but some think otherwise.

Someone very very experienced from where i work saw high res pics of the hero mask and he got right away the way it was painted,its 3 coats of paint makes blue in areas without using any blue and all shades come out,ill have more pics soon to understand.i cant share more because id like to keep it as secret but the masks in person look used and all features stand out perfectly.

With natural and cold light looks blueish a lot,but i didnt use any blue at all,with spot warm light looks whiter.Its a whole new teqnique and to be honest i think its kinda amateur way to paint a mask but this is it.looks weathered naturally and it responds to all lighting conditions perfectly.Here some more pics

Nik you know i love your work n stuff but a bit of critique from me here,i think it's too dirty for H1,i don't think the Hero was this heavily weathered in H1 and as i say Lighting played a huge role aswell.

I hear ya man,the dirtyness is something u can adjust quite easily on this paint proccess,the important is the reaction to the light conditions and how cool and used looks in real,but for your information,the hero was weathered and not a little bit.check the pic

Also we all know that the same mask used in H1 and H2 and the paintjob stayed the same with some extra weathering from bad handling so both h1 and h2 have many similarities but again not showing the exact weathering here but the teqnique.thanks for the critiques and comments

Cool buddy,but that pic's just Photoshopped into colour though isnt it ?,there are no real true colour fleshtones visible at all on the neck which were very apparent on the Hero just grime/weather' also that weathering looks exaggerated to how it really was.not

Nik,it is so awesome to see something this different on a mask.I totally see what you are saying with the reaction to the light and the hints of blue.Amazing to see a technique produce colors that aren't even used!!
