I used a Heath bar on my Creep. It worked great.

I just use acrylic paint. I put some on the brush and get most of the paint off with a napkin till some is left on the brush nearly dry and lightly brush the mask. But I'm not a professional. I'm sure there's someone on here who does this for a living or knows a lot more than I do. Definitely get more opinions.

Use a sponge and a light bit of black acrylic paint. Dampen the sponge and brush on. It will create a thin coating of realistic looking weathering. This is the technique I use to weather.

This is a mask I have painted with said technique.

Acrylic paint is very harsh on the latex, you want to use something natural that won't attack the latex over time. I strongly recommend going with Puckface on this one if you care about your mask. Crush up the oreos very finely BUT make sure to not use the cream filling or you can attract ants and those will speed up the dry rot process over time. That's why you see a lot of 85 and 86 DP masks melting.

Hope that helps.

@ SCOTT

And btw i find that artist charcoal works the best. you get very accurate and RAW results from it. but make sure you have a sealant to seal it in after :D

Seriously, I second what Matt said, as I use artist charcoal sticks for weathering masks. You can apply the charcoal directly to the mask and blend in with your fingers....or rub the charcoal on your finger tips and rub/blend in onto the mask for a less subtle approach. Works surprisingly well. In the past, I have also used dirt/soil on my rotted masks.
